For a few months before this project I had wanted a new desk with more room for me to do homework. The goal of this project was to make a simple desk with plenty of room to do homework, work on independent projects, and some storage for random trinkets.
This is the cad design of the desk. The whole thing was made to fit into one sheet of 1"x8'x4' plywood. I had a hard time sourcing 1" plywood, so I laminated 2 pieces of 1/2" plywood together.
This is the fully assembled desk. The whole project was relatively simple as far as woodworking goes, so there weren't any major challenges or hiccups. On the left of the picture is a custom built PC, great for running CAD software.
Something fun about building things instead of buying them is that it's very easy to customize things that you've built. I realized that I wanted a headphone holder, but I didn't want to use up desktop space for it. The solution was this headphone hanger that I designed and 3D printed for the side of my desk. You can also see it on the left of the above image.
